Antique suit of armor Edo period w/ Tokubetsu-Kicho Certificate
A quality antique armor from mid Edo period (1700's). Cuirass is finished with iron and leather, and a beautiful Moon on the ocean Makie gold/silver relief. Thigh Guard also has the Makie painting. Registered as Tokubetsu Kicho paper "Important historical armor" by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. The original storage box, display stand, and all pieces shown in the catalogue come with. The Fukikaeshi ear gurads have Maru Mitsuoni Kashiwa (Three oak leaves) crest that has been used by Yamauchi warlord family in Tosa domain, and Makino family the military governor of Nagaoka domain between Warring States to Edo shogun periods.
