Antique suit of armor from mid Edo period w/ Tokubetsu-Kicho Certificate
A quality antique armor from mid Edo period (1700's) in excellent condition. The cuirass is called Maru-Do, or rounded one-plate iron armor composed of hundreds Honkozane small iron pieaces, and covered with beautiful Kebiki hair-spread over lacing. The Akoda style helmet is comprised of 32 separate iron plates, each with its own specific proportions. When joined, they result in the perfectly formed kabuto seen here. Registered as Tokubetsu Kicho paper "Important historical armor" by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. The original storage box, display stand, and all pieces shown in the picture come with.
