Antique suit of leather armor from mid Edo period w/ Tokubetsu-Kicho Certificate

A quality antique armour from mid Edo period (1700's). This set features a MOMONARI, or "Peach head-shaped" kabuto, that is a most difficult part of samurai equipment to forge and is one of the most popular helmet styles amongst the warlords of Japan's Sengoku Jidai (Warring States Period). Namban-Do western style cuirass is composed of leather cuirass, leather tassets, iron chest plate, and iron flag holder (Gattari)

The principal parts of this Yoroi are handcrafted out of leather and iron. Kabuto helmet also features a very remarkable head decoration designed with pitchfork. Most fabric and lacing parts were repaired in previous decades. Comes with a certificate named Tokubetsu Kicho paper "Important historical armor" by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. The original storage box, display stand, and all pieces shown in the photos come with.

Helmet: Momonari (peach-shaped) leather bowl finished in black lacquer. Nack guards, visor, Fukikaeshi ear guards are made of iron and leather surface.

Kote sleeves:Rusty brown lacquered iron plates

Haitate Thigh Guard:Leather plates on clothing
