Antique Tanto Short Sword Dagger w/ Ornate Mountings
late Edo period (1800s)
Antique samurai short sword created by swordsmith KINO MASAYOSHI situated in Tsugaru county, current Aomori prefecture, in late Edo period (1750-1850s). Japanese blade less than 30cm (1 foot) like this one is categorized as TANTO (dagger) apart from "Katana". Finished with beautiful Suguha stray straight tempered-line. Comes in a very stunning ornate mountings (also antiques) that has very beautiful Kotsuka utility knife and Menuki (hilt ornament). The blade is well polished by a skillful sword polisher. Shirasaya wooden storage holder comes with. The blade comes with a Certificate of NBTHK (Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords)
