Antique Katana sword in Ornate Mounting

Swordsmith: KANESHIGE

Antique Katana long blade made by swordsmith Minamoto KANESHIGE in 1865, late Edo period. The smith name, given titel, and completion date are inscribed on the tang. Created with a beautiful waved tempered-line pattern on the blade. Registered as Hozon paper "Well Preserved Sword" by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society) that is given to the well-preserved sword with artistic value. The blade comes in a complete ornate mounting.
