Antique Katana sword in Ornate Mounting
Early Edo (Keicho) period around 1600
NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certificated (Extremely Well Preserved certificate)
Swordsmith: Fujiwara MORIMICHI
A quality Katana sword from SAMURAI STORE Tokyo. Antique Katana long blade made by the swordsmith Fujiwara Morimichi in Edo period. Stunningly beautiful, irregular zig-zag Gunome hamon tempered line pattern on the blade. This blade was certified as a TOKUBETSU Hozon paper "Extremely Well-Preserved Sword" by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society), a higher-ranking certification than the standard. Smith's name and location are inscribed on the tang. Comes in a complete set of antique ornate mounting, including all metal fittings. The tsuba guard bears the signature of the artisan TADATOKI, and the Fuchi pommel bears an inscription by the artisan Furukawa Genchin, one of the most reputable gold/silver mounting smiths.
