NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certificated
(Extremely Well Preserved certificate)

Swordsmith: YOSHIKUNI

Experience the prestige of owning a quality Katana sword from SAMURAI STORE Tokyo, a symbol of true craftsmanship.

This extraordinary katana, impeccably mastercrafted by YOSHIKUNI in Settsu province during the prestigious Kanbun period of the early Edo era (1660-1670s), embodies a legacy of unrivaled excellence and distinction.

The smith, Yoshikuni, is the son of Yoshinari and the older brother of Yoshiyuki, who made some legendary swords for Sakamoto Ryoma. Yoshiyuki was chosen as one of the 80 superior Wazamono swordsmiths by Yamada Asaemon, a reputable sword tester working for the Tokugawa shogunate in the Edo period.

The masterful inscriptions of the Smith’s name and location, engraved on the blade tang, amplify its authenticity and elevate this masterpiece as a true symbol of heritage. The nakago tang of this blade is Ubu, with one rivet hole.

Marvel at the blade’s remarkable Osaka-Yakidashi, uniting Suguha and Midareba, with Sudareba mirroring flowing water, stunning Tama with ethereal white misty clusters, and deep Nie, showcasing an artistry only found in true masterpieces.

This remarkable blade has been honored with the prestigious TOKUBETSU Hozon paper "Extremely Well-Preserved Sword" certification by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society), a distinction that cements its elite status and elevates its value far above the ordinary.

The blade comes with a Certificate of NBTHK Japan Sword Preservation Society - Tokubetsu Hozon Paper (Extremely Well-preserved sword)
