Antique Katana sword in Ornate Mounting
Early Edo period 1600s
NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon certificated (Extremely Well Preserved certificate)
Swordsmith: SUKEMUNE
A quality Katana sword from SAMURAI STORE Tokyo. Antique Katana long blade made by the swordsmith Sukemune in Edo period. Stunningly beautiful irregular zig-zag Gunome Choji-Midare hamon tempered line pattern on blade. This blade was certified to TOKUBETSU Hozon paper "Extremely Well-Preserved Sword" by NBTHK (Japan Sword Preservation Society), the higher-ranked certificate than standard. The name of smith and his location are inscribed on tang. Bo-Hi grooves on the blade. Comes in complete set of antique ornate mounting including all metal fittings and Tsuba hand guard featuring Tokugawa Shogunate's gold crests.
The blade comes with Certificate of NBTHK Japan Sword Preservation Society - Tokubetsu Hozon Paper (Extremely Well preserved sword)
