Antique suit of armor from Mid Edo period w/ Koshu Tokubetsu-Kicho Paper (2nd highest ranking) Certificate

A quality antique armor from mid Edo period (1700's). Cuirass consists of 2 divided iron plates finished with Iyozane hand spliced iron pieces and hair-spread silk braid lacings. Kabuto helmet is composed of 32 separate iron plates, each with its own specific proportions. When joined, they result in the perfectly formed kabuto seen here. A great certificate comes with this item. The Koshu-Tokubetsu Kicho paper that is the 2nd ranking certificate among 5 certificates granted by The Association for the Research and Preservation of Japanese Helmets and Armor. (Top ranked certificate is just for a museum-class heritage item). Two storage boxes, display stand(new), and all pieces shown in the catalogue come with. A pair of the chest guards have Umebachi crests (Japanese plum in Pot) known as a family symbol of some warlord clans including Maeda family.
